| The Kingsholm: A Little Gem amid the Hotels in Torquay |
The Entrance
Conversion to hotel use has barely changed this lovely house. The hallway is filled with light from the stained glass front door.
Here a wide open staircase leads to the guest bedrooms, while downstairs the coordinated décor follows through the guest lounge, dining room and bar.
Tour the Bedrooms & Discover Torquay
Lacking nothing of hotel comfort all bedrooms are centrally heated and en-suite and have been individually decorated for that home-from-home feel. Attention to detail is what our guests like, and colour coordination reaches right down to the teapots on the beverage trays.
All rooms have TVs and seating, and there is ample storage in bedside cabinets and wardrobes. Alarm clocks or morning calls, hairdryers and irons and ironing boards are available.

The Lounge
The guest lounge has a beautiful square bay window overlooking Torwood Gardens. With its tall Edwardian fire surround it is a place to lose yourself in a good book. If you are short of something to read Debbie always has plenty of novels that you may borrow.
If you want to explore Torquay and Devon we also keep a library of local interest books and pamphlets, information on local transport and tourist information leaflets.
The Pier Bar
The small bar adjoins the dining room. We are licensed to serve alcohol at any time. You are welcome to take your drink to the garden or to your bedroom.
The Dining Room
The dining room is spacious and enjoys morning light through its half bay window. There is an individual table for each guest bedroom. |

The Garden
The weather alone explains why there are so many hotels in Torquay. We have eaten outside in every month of the year. So enjoy our patio, which is a suntrap with palm trees for shade.
It is a great place to watch the seasons change as the trees of Torwood Gardens, bud, leaf and flower. We work to maintain the planted areas for minimal water use, and you will probably spot the compost bins which save sending vegetable waste to landfill.
The Car Park
The guest car park is to the rear of the Kingsholm. We recommend that you use the car park and then relax by walking and riding on the local buses, trains, steam trains and ferries. |
